I have been wanting to build a workbench for a very long time now, and it's time to build it! I have been using my table saw to act as a workbench and it is just NOT working. SO, let's get started!

I mark out all the dimensions on my 2x4s first before I made the cut.

Then I transfer the mark to a straight line using my speed square.

I made the cut on my homemade table saw using my miter gauge.

Then use the original piece of 2x4 I just cut to transfer the marks so all the 2x4s are identical. Be sure to line your stock up flush .(shown with the arrow)

Then, I just repeat the process for every parts of the workbench.

This is just an overview of what it should look like when all the materials are prepared.

Drill pocket holes for the parts that are required. (The frame)

Be sure to drill on the side with the factory marks if you don't want the marks to appear on the outside of the workbench.

Assemble the frame using pocket holes. I used a speed square to line up the parts so I can have a square frame. You will need to assemble two of these.

I just repeated the process and made two exact frames.

I used a piece of 2x4 to act as a spacer at the two ends for the front and back support braces.

Then pre-drill holes for 2 1/2" screws. The support braces are just laminated 2x4s.

Driving screws. (You can also add glue.)

Screw the support braces to the inner frame.

Attach the outer-frame to the structure (inner-frame) from the inside. Pre-drill the holes first.

Driving three screws on the top.

Driving three screws on the right side.

Driving three screws on the bottom side.

I attached four on/off casters for mobility. (3 inch casters)

These are great casters.

Then I attached the center braces and the bottom one.

I attached the plywood top and the bottom by driving screws directly into the support braces.

Sand the top for a few coats of water-based polyurethane.

I gave the top four coats in total because I like the smooth surface and it prevents glue sticking to the wood itself.
