Wooden Pulleys // How To

Build Video:

This set of pulleys are made for an upcoming project. Pulleys are useful, handy, and cheap if you make it out of wood. (which is easy to make) Let me show you how I made it.

Cut out your desired sized pulley

Drill out a hole for your shaft (that will connect to the pulley)

Secure your pulleys with bolts, buts, and washers, then mount them onto your drill press. Also mount a guide (long piece of bolt secured to the table) to give you a resting place for your shaping tools.

Even out the circle with a chisel or a gouge.

Mark lines for the belt. (where your belt goes)

Take your time removing the material form the center outwards.

Sand the final shape that will fit your belt.
